Our Team

Our Teammates:

The McPhail family has been serving in Cambodia since August 2000. Forrest grew up in the Chicago area, graduating from Schaumburg Christian School, a ministry of Bethel Baptist Church. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Bible in 1996 and then a Master of Arts in Bible in 1998, both from Bob Jones University. Jennifer grew up in rural Georgia, where her dad is a pastor. Jennifer earned a Bachelor’s degree in Counseling from BJU in 1996. Forrest and Jennifer met each other at Bob Jones University. The Lord has blessed them with four children: Savannah; Micaiah; Elijah; and Sierra.

After two years of learning the language and working with another group of missionaries in the capital city of Phnom Penh, the McPhail family moved to the province of Pursat in Western Cambodia in August 2002 to start a new church-planting ministry. Our family joined the McPhail family in Pursat on March 29, 2005 and worked with them in Pursat province until March 25, 2010 when our family moved to Pailin province.

The Carlyle family arrived in Cambodia on September 1, 2009 and have been studying the Khmer language in the capital city of Phnom Penh. Chris met Michael at one of our supporting churches in the Michigan area in 2002, and then again at a pastor’s conference in Ohio in June 2008. During that pastor’s conference, the Lord knit our hearts together due to a common theology and philosophy of missions. Our two families then shared a missions conference together in Georgia in August 2008. At that time, Chris approached Michael about coming to Cambodia. After a survey trip to Cambodia in October 2008, the Carlyle family decided to make plans to come to Cambodia.

Both Michael and Julie attended a secular college in Colorado. After God called Michael to the mission field, he attended Central Baptist Theological Seminary in Virginia Beach, Virginia where he received his Masters in Biblical Studies in 2006 and then a Master of Divinity in 2008. The Carlyles have 4 daughters: Rachael, Elizabeth, Christy, and Katie.

Our Team Goal:

Our goal as a ministry team is to help foster a fundamental, indigenous church-planting movement in Western Cambodia that both glorifies God and brings joy to God’s people.
