The McPhail/Seawright Cambodia Team–January 2008

Our Call to a Team and to Cambodia:

During the summer of 2001, we took a five-week survey trip to Cambodia seeking the Lord’s will about a future place of ministry overseas. Chris and Forrest McPhail knew each other from their days as students at Bob Jones University. We knew we wanted to work as a team with another couple who was like-minded and burdened to foster a fundamental, indigenous, church-planting movement on a pioneer mission field. Near the end of our survey trip, the Lord made it clear that our family and the McPhail family were of one heart and mind. We decided that summer to make future plans to return to Cambodia as full-time missionaries. After finishing up seminary in 2002 and a year and a half of deputation, we arrived on the field of Cambodia on March 4, 2004.

Our Teammates:

The McPhail family has been serving in Cambodia since August 2000. Forrest grew up in the Chicago area, graduating from Schaumburg Christian School, a ministry of Bethel Baptist Church. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Bible in 1996 and then a Master of Arts in Bible in 1998, both from Bob Jones University. Jennifer grew up in rural Georgia, where her dad is a pastor. Jennifer earned a Bachelor’s degree in Counseling from BJU in 1996. Forrest and Jennifer met each other at Bob Jones University. The Lord has blessed them with four children: Savannah (1/31/99); Micaiah (7/10/03); Elijah (1/18/05); and Sierra (3/30/08)

After two years of learning the language and working with another team in the capital city of Phnom Penh, the McPhail family moved to the province of Pursat in Western Cambodia in August 2002. Our family joined the McPhail family in Pursat on March 29, 2005. It has been a great joy to work with and learn from the McPhail family.

Our Team Goal:

Our goal as a ministry team is to help foster a fundamental, indigenous church-planting movement in Western Cambodia that both glorifies God and brings joy to God’s people.
