Our Children
Rachel Elisabeth Seawright
Rachel–Hebrew for “little lamb”
“But Rachel was beautiful and well-favoured.” Genesis 29:17b
Elisabeth–named after Elisabeth Stam, missionary martyr with her husband John in China
“Lord, I give up all my own purposes and plans, all my own desires and hopes and ambitions, and accept Thy will for my life. I give myself, my life, my all utterly to Thee, to be Thine forever.” –Elisabeth Stam
Rachel was born in Greenville, SC on February 3, 2003. She is our sweet little princess! She is extremely feminine and maternal. She loves the color purple, playing house, coloring, and helping Mommy in the kitchen. Rachel has completed K4 and K5 and will be starting 1st grade soon. She is a diligent student and really enjoys sounding out words and writing them out for us. She loves Cambodia and all of her friends in our Pursat neighborhood. Most importantly she is very tender to spiritual things and we pray that she will give her life to Christ at a young age.
Isaac Martyn Seawright
Isaac–Hebrew for “he laughs”
“God hath made me to laugh, so that all that hear will laugh with me.” Genesis 21:6
Martyn–named after Henry Martyn, pioneer missionary to India and the Middle East
“The Spirit of Christ is the Spirit of Missions, and the nearer we get to Him, the more intensely missionary we must become.” –Henry Martyn
Isaac was born in Bangkok, Thailand on January 26, 2005. He is ALL BOY and loves anything dangerous or deadly! He is a busy little guy who enjoys climbing, running, eating and learning. He loves his little sister Susanna, maybe too much at times. We are trying to teach him gentleness :-). He likes to talk and make us laugh, living up to the meaning of his name. He is quite skilled at Scripture memory and it is our daily prayer that his abilities and endless energy will be yielded to Christ at a young age!
Susanna Isobel Seawright
Susanna–Hebrew for “lily”
“And Susanna, and many others, which ministered unto Him of their substance.” Luke 8:3b
Isobel–named after Isobel Kuhn, missionary with her husband John in China and Thailand
“Let us go on. Go on searching and exploring the greatness and the dearness of our God.” –Isobel Kuhn
Susanna was born in Chiang Mai, Thailand on October 15, 2007. She is changing every day. Besides the normal activities of babies (sleeping, eating, and crying), she has started to laugh, eat cereal, and cut teeth. Whenever Rachel is in the room, Susanna gets excited. We hope this loving relationship with her older sister will continue for many years to come :-).
